Paul Murphy MEP (Socialist Party / United Left Alliance) is one of the Irish volunteers sailing on the MV Saoirse to Gaza.

He has hit back at USA foreign affairs supremo,  Hillary Clinton, who has, according to the Electronic Intifada

effectively tells Israel it has the “right” to attack a boat carrying dozens of American civilians, including Hedy Epstein and Alice Walker.”

The Foreign Affairs boss of the Dublin Government, Eamon Gilmore, has failed to cover himself with glory on this subject, suggesting that Israel “peacefully” violate international maritime law by intercepting the Gaza Freedom flotilla.

We recently saw Eamon Gilmore basking in the chilly glow of Hillary Clinton’s smile in darkest Africa – he was preening himself with unmerited pride. Perhaps they jointly decided on the kind of rhetoric to use towards the Flotilla, because Gilmore’s shameful statement yesterday wasn’t much better.
